Ha inizio a Bruino (TO) nel 1997, quando un giovane canarino maschio entrò accidentalmente nella mia casa attraverso la finestra del bagno.
Tra il 1997 e il 2001 più specie si alternarono nel mio allevamento: canarini, padda, verdoni, cardellini, roselle, inseparabili personata e roseicollis.
Al 2000 risale la mia iscrizione alla F.O.I. (Federazione Ornitologica Italiana).
Nel 2001 ho deciso di dedicarmi interamente ai Roseicollis, cedendo tutti i soggetti appartenenti alle altre specie. In quello stesso anno ho acquistato da un noto allevatore, la mia prima coppia di 'taglia maggiorata': un maschio verde faccia arancio portatore di cinnamon ed una femmina cinnamon portatrice di faccia arancio.
E' in pratica nel 2001 che nasce il Progetto Roseicollis.
Nell'anno successivo le coppie di taglia grossa sono diventate 5 e hanno fatto il loro ingresso in allevamento i verdi puri (ancestrali) e la mutazione lutino.

The history has began at Bruino (TO) in 1997, when a young male canary entered accidentally into my house through the bathroom window.
Between 1997 and 2001 I bred a lot of species: Serinus, Padda Oryzivora, Carduelis Chloris, Carduelis Carduelis, Platycercus, Roseicollis and Personata Lovebirds.
My entry in the F.O.I. association (Italian Ornithological Federation) dates back to 2000.
In 2001 I decided to devote myself entirely to Roseicollis Lovebirds, selling all birds belonging to other species. That same year I bought from a known breeder, my first couple of "long feather": an orange face green male and a cinnamon female carrier of orange face.

In practice, in 2001 founded the "Progetto Roseicollis" (Roseicollis project).
In the 2002 "long feather" couples became 5, and have made their entry into breeding greens pure (ancestral) and lutino.

Nel 2003 l'allevamento è cresciuto come strutture, e sono state acquistate delle voliere da m. 2x1x2.
Il nuovo spazio ha portato all'acquisto e all'inserimento in allevamento di una coppia di cenerini ed una coppia di amazzoni fronte blu... un vento nuovo che non andrà ad intaccare il mio interesse e la mia dedizione nella selezione e nell'allevamento degli Agapornis Roseicollis.
Nella stagione riproduttiva 2004/05 Progetto Roseicollis raggiunge numeri importanti: 115 Agapornis svezzati dalle 14 coppie messe in riproduzione, livello qualitativo dei piccoli molto elevato. A fine 2005 l'esordio alla mostra di Reggio Emilia, dove con 5 soli animali presentati ho ottenuto un primo posto nei verdi puri, un secondo posto con un soggetto cinnamon faccia arancio, un 90 ed un 89 punti con i lutini faccia arancio.
Nel 2005/2006 i piccoli allevati sono stati 125.

Nel 2006 il furto, da parte degli organizzatori del Campionato Italiano di Forlì, del mio soggetto più bello (un lutino faccia arancio) ha segnato un importante colpo d'arresto al mio interesse nel mondo delle mostre, mondo  cui mi ero appena affacciato. Profondamente deluso e amareggiato dall'atteggiamento della FOI mi sono interrogato sul senso delle mostre. Ma il mio pensiero lo lascio alla pagina ad esse dedicata. Quello che è cambiata è però la filosofia di allevamento: non più le mostre come fine ultimo, ma piuttosto una selezione in robustezza, salute e prolificità, fermi restando gli standard selettivi.

La storia di Progetto Roseicollis continua nel 2007 tra mille difficoltà: l'inizio della mia vita lavorativa riduce il tempo a disposizione dell'hobby, il matrimonio, il trasloco a Torino e la nascita del primogenito (2008) annullano nella pratica il tempo libero, consigliandomi o… forzandomi a non mettere in riproduzione gli animali.
Per gli stessi motivi il sito non è più stato aggiornato per un lungo periodo, me ne scuso ma non ho potuto fare altrimenti.

Nel 2009 ho ridotto numericamente l'allevamento, riuscendo così a mettere nuovamente i nidi. E questa non è più storia ma attualità: si ricomincia con i piccoli !

In the breeding season 2004/05 "Progetto Roseicollis" reach important numbers: 115 Agapornis weaned from 14 couples put into play, the pullus quality level very high.
In Autumn 2005, the debut exhibition in Reggio Emilia, with only 5 animals presented: a first place in the pure green, a second place with a subject cinnamon orange face, a 90 and a 89 points with lutino orange face.
In 2005/2006, the pullus were 125.


In 2006, the theft by the organizers of the Italian Championship of Forli, of my most beautiful and representative subject (a lutino orange face) has killed and arrested my interest in the world of exhibitions, world which I had just overlooked.
Deeply disappointed and saddened by the attitude of FOI Association I questioned on the meaning of the exhibitions.
But I leave my thoughts to the page dedicated to the exhibition. What has however changed is the philosophy of breeding: exhibition are no longer the ultimate goal, but rather a selection in strength, health and fertility, without prejudice to the standard selective.
The history of "Progetto Roseicollis" continues in 2007 with big difficulty: the beginning of my working life reduces the time available to the hobby: the marriage, the moving to Turin and the birth of my firstborn (2008) deleted, in practice, leisure... advising, or better, forcing me to don't reproduce the parrots.

For the same reasons the site has not been updated for a long time, I apologize but I could not do otherwise.

In 2009 I reduced numerically the breeding , but I find time to put them the nests. And this is not history but topical: I re-start with pullus!

Progetto Roseicollis è innanzitutto il nome del mio allevamento, dopo di che è anche una serie di obiettivi da raggiungere, tra i quali quello primario è la selezione di un ceppo robusto, prolifico e qualitativamente eccelso in tutte le voci dello standard.
Questi obiettivi possono essere raggiunti attraverso una grande conoscenza teorica e soprattutto pratica della specie.

"Progetto Roseicollis" (Roseicollis project) is primarily the name of my breeding, after which it is also a goals series , including the most important that are the selection of a strain robust, prolific and quality excelled in all items of the standard.
These goals can be achieved through a depth knowledge and experience, theoretical and practice, of this particular species.

Sono un "ragazzo" di 32 anni, Ingegnere Meccanico Agroalimentare. Laureato a marzo 2006, lavoro in una nota azienda agroalimentare di Torino. Sposato dal 2007, sono diventato papà nel 2008. Da sempre con la passione per gli hobbies naturalistici, da 14 anni allevo con grande interesse volatili, Agapornis soprattutto. Ritengo che per mantenere vivo un hobby sia necessario rinnovarlo continuamente, in quanto c'è sempre da migliorare e sempre qualcosa da imparare in quello che si fa. Questo sito è nato proprio per questo fine.
